The King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals is now accepting applications. It honors young people who strive to be active and engaged citizens and contribute to the well-being of their communities and environment, as well as organizations that create the enabling environment and infrastructure for young people to make a difference.

🟢Scholarship Categories

The scholarship is divided into two categories:
The first category recognizes the role of youth in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The second category of the award recognizes tools for enabling youth participation, action and influence in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

➖Finance

The King Hamad Scholarship provides funding as follows:
• Youth work category: the grant amount is 20 thousand dollars.
• Youth Empowerment Category: The grant amount is 25 thousand dollars.
• Travel tickets to Bahrain.
• Free accommodation.

➖Admission criteria

The following are the criteria for applying for the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment:
For the first category:
Recognition of the contribution of young people to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals is open to applicants from all UN Member States.
Individuals between the ages of 15 and 35 are eligible to apply.
A youth-led entity is defined as one in which at least 50% of the current management/leadership is less than 35 years old, while a youth-focused entity is defined as one that is
It directs at least 90% of resources towards young people aged 15 to 35.
For the second category:
Organizations that are legally recognized and registered in a UN Member State in one of the following four sectors are eligible for recognition as enablers of youth participation, action and influence towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals:
First, there is the government sector and the public sector.
Second: There is the private sector.
Third: NGOs, professional and labor organizations and institutions.
